Meet Liz Barka of Magical Ceremonies
My name's Liz. I'm the person behind Magical Ceremonies. I'm an experienced celebrant specialising in compassionate authentic farewells & unique enchanting weddings. I get to know you so that I can create a ceremony that is original and heartfelt. I've been a celebrant for over 7 years. Teaching and performance is my background & I care deeply about people. I have always been a healer, am a grief & bereavement guide & studying most recently as a spiritual healer and qualifying as a MIND Mental Heath First Aider.
My Story
I live in Cambridgeshire with my husband of 25 years and look forward to visits from my two adult children. I grew up in the west country with my older sister and parents, always feeling like I belonged in the trees with the other animals. From a young age I was singing and acting and I carried that with me throughout my life, studying for a degree in drama and film at College. I lived in London in my twenties, working in theatre and performance and qualifying as a holistic massage therapist. I also lived in New Zealand for a few years with my aunt, uncle and cousin on a boat, acting on television and in theatre shows and helping out with their donut stand!
I mothered my two children at home until I was able to work again and qualified as a teacher. I taught for some years in primary, with a passion for art, history and French, then began working for a company that taught history in schools through role play and authentic crafts.
I'm a book worm, reading fantasy and historical genres for the most part, more recently my reading has been to research spirituality, personal development, and higher consciousness. I am clairvoyant, I love crystals and angels and fairies, painting, singing, crafting, trees, nature, energy healing, studying world religions and meditating.
I love what I do. It combines all my skills and interests - in nature, in historical rituals, in performance, in caring - and all of this helps you to have the most authentic and unique service. I am deeply committed to serving others with compassion and joy.
